The objective of this study was understood traditional food culture of Quilombo Lagoa Torta dos Pretos (Anagé-BA). This qualitative case study research was conducted with observation and semi-structured interviews on community. The research identified crops, traditional foods and related knowledge and skills. Quilombo Lagoa Torta dos Pretos food culture is not limited only to culinary practices, but reflects community history, culture and identity, including agrifood management, traditional culinary practices, ancient recipes from ancestors, celebrations and rituals related to food. Food has an important role in social cohesion and in preservation of culture and community heritage.
