Teoria austríaca dos ciclos econômicos: uma síntese teórica sobre as causas e consequências dos ciclos
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis study aims to investigate business cycles from the perspective of the Austrian School of Economics, revisiting the core foundations of its theory and presenting its most recent updates. Through a comprehensive overview of its historical evolution, methodology, capital theory and its interaction with the monetary and interest rate markets, as well as the innovations introduced over time and its main criticisms, this research consolidates the Austrian view of economic cycles by addressing all aspects that compose it. Therefore, this research is a theoretical synthesis of the Austrian Business Cycle Theory (ABCT), which aims to gather and present the key points, criticisms, and advancements in Austrian explanations of the causes, consequences, and solutions of economic fluctuations. It concludes that the theory has seen few evolutions and innovations over time, has gaps in its foundations, and employs a methodological approach that diverges from the current economic method, hindering its acceptance within the scientific community.
