The research is the result of intensive and extended interactions with members of Capoeira group of the “Regional” variety: Filhos de Bimba Escola de Capoeira, FBEC, located in Pelourinho, the Historic Center of Salvador da Bahia in Brazil. I demonstrate that Regional Capoeira is not only a driving force for the transnational expansion of Bahian Capoeira, but that it is, itself, the result of international practices and flows, since its origins. Such an argument aligns well with the native point of view of capoeiristas and also with the observations of other scholars: Capoeira, as part of the African diaspora, continues to exist and expand in a diasporic fashion. I conclude with an ethnographic reflection regarding the practice of Capoeira through digital platforms, such as Zoom, connecting people from different parts of the world.","abstract_html":"In this work, I discuss transnational flows of Capoeira.
