Solidão, saudades e as possibilidades: trajetórias de vida, experiências e emoções de pessoas com sofrimento emocional
Abstract
dc:description.abstractIn this study one aimed to understand the emotions experienced by those subjects who declared to have a great emotional suffering, but all of them were diagnosed as "mentally ill". Seven trajectories of life were presented, by having people of different genders and ages and that lived in diverse locations such as a home, a hotel, a shelter and a therapeutic residence. The emotions experienced by those subjects are not characterized as something on the order of subjectivity, of an inner dimension. On the contrary, this subjectivity is embodied in the body, which is not isolated, but it is in the continuous and entire world. Emotions circulate in the body that is continually doing itself in the world, prescinded to a split long established between body and mind, subjective and objective. On the basis of this split are a number of other dichotomies such as nature versus culture, emotion versus reason etc.. The emotion occurs from the imbrication of the subject in its own world. The Being is always being-in-world, and can not be displaced of it. This world involves not only the relationships with other living beings, such as affective linkings built along of life, but also with non-human organisms, the objects whose trajectories intersect with the subject itself. The trajectory of each subject is made continuously in the same way, although the past may place certain restrictions on the future. The narratives presented, added to participant observation, showed the presence of a lot of emotions connected to an absence, such as loneliness, hope and missing, likewise, such emotions relate to a temporality, since many live the experience the same day repeats continuously. However, it was possible to observe several engagements, especially in places of residence, in order to recover certain autonomy or some rights long lost, like having an affair or keeping their own civil documents. Note that, although many demonstrate to believe the impossibility of having a "normal life", there was a continuous movement, although sometimes shy, to overcome some difficulties.
