Construção de um thesaurus para indexar prontuários médicos no campo da cardiologia

Design of a thesaurus in Cardiology for a future retrieval of medical records on this area considering the large variety of its terminology. The starting point of the present work is the examination of a large sample of medical records avaiable in the "Hospital de Cardiologia de Laranjeiras of the Instituto Nacional de Assistência Médica e Previdência Social (INAMPS)" as well as other terms derived from existing general vocabularies in Medicine and in Cardiology. The terms are classified into facets within which an adequate network of references: broader, narrower and related terms (BT, NT, RT) were drawn. The thesaurus consists of two parts: an alphabetic one and an hierarchical’ one, containing an introduction on how to use it.
