The study is based on a survey carried out by means of a self-administered questionnaire among 248 institutions in the agricultrual area, from which were obtained 139 informative responses, 7 of were received beyond the stated time limit, and 28 responses advising that the institution did not have a library. Analysis of the data led us to conclude taht the infrastructure of agricvultural infromation in Brazil is undersdeveloped and insufficiently used by potencial patrons. In addition, the problems of human resources, of integration, of physical faciliies and of interacion with the user became evident. national standards and regional differences area also identified as well as information sources which merit further studies and micrievaluation. El trabajo se basa en un relevamiento realizado por medio de un cuestionario auto-aplicable enviado a 248 instituciones vinculadas al sector agricola, de las cuales se obtuvieron 139 respuestas informativas siendo que 7 fuera del plazo, y también 28 respuestas comunicando que no poseian biblioteca. El análisis de los datos permite llegar a la conclusión que se trata de una infra-estrutura sub-desarrollada y sub-utilizada, enfrentando problemas de recursos humanos, de integración, de soporte físico y de interacción con los usuarios. Los padrones nacionales y las diferencias regionales son identificados, así como las áreas informatológicas en donde deben ser aplicados estudios de micro-eveluación.
