Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) is a polymer widely used by the oil & gas industry due to its special features that make it suitable for this application, like imperviousness to liquid and gases, good compatibility with most chemicals and good stability in high pressure/temperature. As a recycling process for this fluoropolymer is still unknown, this work suggests reinserting the PVDF post-industrial waste by primary recycling aiming the remediation of the issue caused by its disposal in the environment. Results showed that both PVDF post-industrial and recycled ones present in its microstructures coexistence of alfa end beta phase. The thermal aging was responsible for promoting thermo-oxidation in the samples which lead to secondary crystallization, however, this secondary crystallization did not affect significantly the materials thermal stability and mechanical properties, making both recycled PVDF and post-industrial PVDF waste promising.
