In that way, demand side management (DSM) measures are being used more often, in order to guarantee de safety and reliability of the electrical systems. Therefore, the need for studying demand-side management measures has increased in recent years. The use of these measures requires a solid knowledge of consumer behavior with regards to both the total power demand and consumption fluctuations during the day and the year. The present work proposes a domestic power demand model to forecast not only the total power consumption, but also the demand profile during a year and during a day. This work also makes a case study in order to validate the methodology proposed. The work also evaluates how efficiency measures may impact the demand profile during the year and the daily load.","abstract_html":"The growing electricity demand combined with the emerging power generation technologies have increased the importance of electric power demand models for the electric planning.
