Sistema de informações para subsidiar a gestão de efluentes líquidos em portos marítimos no Brasil

Despite the growth and development prospects of the port sector in Brazil, the lack of infrastructure has reduced the attractiveness of new investments. Environmental issues control is a point that needs improvement to ensure a reduction in pollution from port activities, such as untreated wastewater discharged in the water bodies. This work describes an information system to support the management of wastewater in brazilian public seaports, and its format for insertion and data query; also analyses the information that was registered in it. Data on water supply, sewage, oil residues and rainwater drainage were obtained from 22 public seaports, within the Conformity Program for Managing Waste and Liquid Effluents on Brazilian Maritime Ports. The analysis identifies the panorama of wastewater in ports, which has shown the need for improvements in rainwater drainage systems, which carry dispersed solids, in the containment mechanisms at the oil residues generation points and in the sewage treatment systems, because many of them are outdated and have low efficiency. In addition, it was done an evaluation of the ANTAQ`s Environmental Performance Index, against the management of wastewater.
