Participação dos pesquisadores brasileiros de microbiologia, imunologia e parasitogia (MIP) na literatura científica internacional

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

Two hundred twenty nine brazilian biomedical journals from which were extracts the Microbiological, Imunological and Parasitological (MIP) articles, were examineds. The MIP articles distribution conforms well with the Bradford’s Law The 1977 authors and their articles extracts from the sample were studies from the point of view of language, institutions, indexing levels, produtivity and so on. The author’s produtivity seems to be in the case, similar to Lotka’s distribution modified by Price, that is, 1/10 of the authors is related with 1/3 of the total works, and the authors with 5 articles or more, being equivalent to square root of the scientific population searched The Biological Abstracts from BIOSIS shows the highest level of coverage of the brazilian material with almost 75 per cent indexed The representativity of the brazilian literature of the MIP area in the international biomebical literature seems to be equal to 62,5 per cent of the papers published in the national and international journal.
