Otimização dos parâmetros de um sensor de correntes parasitas para detecção de defeitos através de simulação eletromagnética

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

Bi-metalic steels, such as clad steels, have been extensively used in various industries due to its unique mechanical and corrosion behavior. However, these alloys show particular characteristics which lead to the need for specific inspection techniques in order to ensure the structural integrity of components manufactured from these steels. The inspection by eddy current technique is one of the most successful non destructive technique in such cases where the material is an electric conductor. However the efficiency of eddy current probes are intrinsically related to the operation state and the geometry project. In this work computational simulation aided by finite elements is the base layer tool used to get to an optimized project of eddy current probes to detect defects in clad steels. As a final result, an optimization methodology using computational simulation is validated through laboratory experiments and a optimal geometry is achieved.
