This work presents aspects related to the participation of wind power plants in the frequency regulation of electric power systems after major disturbances in the grid. By means of electromechanical transient simulations, the benefit of the frequency regulation controls - present in the modern models of wind turbines - is evaluated in terms of the reduction of frequency variations after large disturbances.
