On a établit un profil des tendences et des caractéristiques de la lecture au Brésil à l' époque coloniale, en particulier l' intérét des lecteurs vis-à-vis certaines oeuvres em prose et en vers. On a fournit des l' éléments pour l' analyse et description du lecteur colonial, d'après la notation discriminée des livres inscrits comme des biens dans les inventaires de l' époque, dupuis le XVII ème siècle jusqu'au XIX ème.
