The compensation strategy and the converters control is based on the p-q Theory. In order to investigate the compensator behavior, a real data based simulation was performed. The real case is the Cosigua steel mill, connected to the subtransmission system of the electric energy company Light SESA. The PSCAD software was chosen to run the simulations, where the Cosigua was modelled based on data provided by its technical team.
