Dinâmica de uma estrutura origâmica cilíndrica atuada por ligas com memória de forma
Abstract
dc:description.abstractOrigami, the art of paper folding, has been inspiration to the development of new engineering structures due to its intrinsic ability of change its shape and volume. Associated with smart materials, these structures have a great potential in the creation of self-expandable devices. Shape memory alloys belong to this class of materials and they possess the ability to change its shape by varying the temperature. The goal of this work is the study of the behavior of a cylindrical origami named origami-stent associated with shape memory alloys. Such association is performed by placing torsional springs in the origami creases. The origami with shape memory allows expansion and contraction in the radial direction with no physical contact. The mathematical model assumes a constitutive polynomial model to describe the behavior of the shape memory alloys. Geometric assumptions establish a model with one-degree of freedom having constitutive and geometric non-linearities. Numerical simulations enable to explore the nonlinear dynamics of the system, presenting intricate situations such as chaos.
