Contribuição ao estudo do gênero Mastophora Holmberg, 1876 na América do Sul (Aranea, Argiopidae)

A taxonomical study of the genus Mastophora Holmberg, 1876 which inhabit South America is presented. The material examined belongs to the following Research Institutions: Museu Nacional, Rio de Janeiro. Instituto Butantan, São Paulo. Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de são Paulo. Museu de Ciencias Naturais Bernardino Rivadavia, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Three species of the genus Mastophora Holmberg, 1876, which inhabit South America, were not examined. The species studied were illustrated and maps were made showing the places where the genus was found in Brazil.
