Composição, distribuição e abundância da ictiofauna da Baía da Ilha Grande (Rio de Janeiro - Brasil)
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe present work aims to show and discuss some aspects of ecology of the ichthyofauna of the Ilha Grande Bay, south coast of Rio de Janeiro State. Experimental catches and field observations were carried out, providing results used in fish distribution analysis. Aside, the study of the 1988 fisheries statistics records, provided by Angra dos Reis Municipality, have shown relative abundance variations of the main fish commercial kinds. It was recorded 134 fish species, distributed in four communities, according the main biotopes found in the region. It was observed evidences of seasonal movements of pleuronectiform fishes, which seems ocupy mostly the bay inner areas in spring-summer period, and the outer ones during winter. The other fish commercial kinds come in the bay during several year seasons. It was noticed that some species domine the studied area.
