Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe present work consists of an interactive graphics pre and post-processing environment for structural models discretization, plane and espatial, into finite element meshes in microcomputers. This work comes to make a contribution in the popularization of finite elements method, allowing sofisticated resources of numeric and graphics processing for structural analysis to the small port user or company. The environment is integrated as allows designers and draftmen to use the same graphic platform. Computer graphics resources are employed to make possible models vizualization and the interactive interface causes the system to give back immediate answers to users request. All of these characteristics, gathered of a particularly attractive way, allows not only discretization (mesh generation), but also edition, nodal reordering and model database generation.
