Aplicação do M.E.F. na análise do colapso de tubulações submarinas para águas profundas

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

This work presents developments on the numerical analysis and determination of collapse loads in deepwater pipelines, which are subjected to high external hydrostatic pressures. These pipelines present very small diameter-to-thickness ratios, thus requiring rigorous considerations on their analysis and design. The Finite Element Method (F.E.M.) is considered in these developments, where the pipeline is discretized using nonlinear isoparametric shell elements, which accounts for geometric and material nonlinearities. Plastification across the thickness is represented by using a layered model. The collapse analysis is performed through an incremental-iterative nonlinear analysis, based on the Newton-Raphson method, and also employing a special displacement-control technique.
