Four specimens were tested forming two groups according to the percentage of transverse reinforcement. In each group the main variable was the axial compression. The test results lead to the proposal of some changes in the formulae proposed by Y. Nagato for the calculation of the shear strength of reinforced concrete members with plain circular cross-section in order to fit them to hollow circular cross-section.
