Modelagem de tratamento biológico de esgotos em reator batelada sequencial
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe biological removal of chemical polutants and BOD from sewage has been performed is continuous stirred tank reactors, operating at very low concentration of effluent within the reactor. The rate of reaction is normaly proportional to concentration and therefore very long residence time is required. This work examines the kinetic advantage obtainable with batch reactors and points to the possibility of their use instead of the conventional continuous reactors. A mathematical model is presented, including the two phases of treatment - carbonaceous material and nitrification. A computer simulation of the treatment is used to predict the behaviour of the main system parameters. The study focus the influence of filling time, incoming organic load, microorganism concentration and their growth characteristics.
