Análise estática de placas pelo método combinado elementos finitos - matriz de transferência
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis work deals with the combined finite element-transfer matrix method. The main advantage of this method is to reduce the size of matrices envolved in the analysis which is useful in microcomputers with little RAM memory. Herein this method is used for static analysis of isotropic retangular plates with all edges clamped. The theoretical fundamentals of the method are developed for plate bending and some numerical results of the problem are presented. A code for 8 bit microcomputer was developed. Using double precision for the computer variables, the numerical results of the present formulation agree with those obtained by the finite element method. In simple precision there is a degeneracy in the accuracy due to round off errors with increasing the strips of combined method.
