The purpose of this work is to present the system DINAF/NL which allows the nonlinear soil-structure interaction dynamic analysis of bi-dimensional models with applied external loadings using the finite element method. The solution of the dynamic equilibrium equations is done in the frequency domain, through the direct solution of a complex values linear equations. The material damping is considered through the complex shear moduli. ln this way, the system steady-state response for an harmonic excitations is obtained. The nonlinear soil behavior is considered by performing a iterative linear analysis (Equivalent Linear Method) with values of shear moduli and damping adjusted in each cycle through experimental strain-compatible soil curves.
