For wind loads the manual methods yield bad results and therefore the computer analysis is very important. A microcomputer with 48 Kbytes of RAM memory compatible with the APPLE II was used. A group of plane componente (plane frames, shear walls and their combinations) with compatible horizontal displacements by the action of horizontal rigid slabs forms the structural model. Offset and bracing members, elastic supports, prescribed displacements and a random variation of the structural elements may be considered in this model. The code was developed in BASIC language. It has a powerful pre processor and a processor which deals efficientely with the RAM memory and auxiliary memories. The post processor offers good reports of results.
