In the method of buckling mode superposition the eingenvectores have been tradionally used as basis vectors. The high computational cost of this procedure, caused by the iterative character of the eingenvalue problem, is its main drawback. The proposed method reduces the computer time requirements significantly without affecting the accuracy of the results. The viability of the proposed algorithm is investigated through some examples.
