Abstract

The purpose of this work is to present a method of analysis for dynamic soil-pile interaction. An analytical solution in frequency domain is developed for horizontal vibration and circular cross section, modelling the soil as a linear viscoelastic material. A comparison with the model of lumped mass is performed for sensitivity studies, discussing the differences between the two approaches and the role played by several factors.
