The lost of the type material of T portoricensis and T iheringi, both Clessin, 1900, combined to their poor original descriptions and illustrations, do not allow the recognition of the concept of these taxa, making them non-identified and known by their original descriptions only. The records of T nivea (Stimpson, 1851) and T interrupta (Totten, 1835) were based on misidentifications and these species do not belong to the Brazilian malacofauna. \"Turbonilla\" dubia (d'Orbigny, 1840) does not belong to the family Pyramidellidae, being reallocated in the genera Finella A. Adams, 1869, family Diastomatidae.
