Experimentalmente se determinóla expansión del lecho usando la tecnica de filme a baja velocidad, para observar las fluctuaciones de altura y la formación de burbujas en el lecho. Uno de los tubos inmersos es calentado electricamente transfiriendo calor al lecho, observando las variaciones de temperatura con respecto al tiempo y a la velocidad superficial del gas; consecuentemente medidas del coeficiente de transferencia de calor global fueron hechas.
