Experimentalmente se determina el nivel del flujo de calor y se usa la técnica de filme a alta velocidad para observar el crecimiento de burbujas en el disco. Para explicación del fenómeno se propone un modelo teórico del mecanismo de transferencia de calor considerando que en la etapa de ebullición nucleada aun alguna parte del calor se transmite por convección natural.
