Análise de fundações submetidas a esforços de arrancamento pelo Método dos Elementos Finitos
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThe purpose of this work is to study the behaviour of foundations subjected to pull-out forces, using the Finite Element Method. ln this subject, the results of field tests in footings and pier-foundations are analysed. These tests were made on a gneissic residual soil, near The City of Rio de Janeiro. The field observations are compared with results obtained by some traditional methods and with results obtained using a developed Finite Element Program. Backward analysis were made, in order to determine the resistence parameters of soil and of the interface between foundation and soil using results of in-situ tests. The foundations and soil were simulated with 4 CST (four constant strain triangles) elements. ln the interface were used jointelements, originally developed to analyse jointed rocks. Both soil non-linearity and plastification are taken into account. The efficiency of the developed programm, particulary the use of the joint-elements, were verified. The programm can be used in the future to research and to design of foundations subjected to vertical uplift loads.
