Resistência ao cisalhamento de solos compactados: uma proposta de tipificação

This paper with shear resistance of compacted soils, based on test performed to research borrow areas from a number of designed and/or constructed Brazilian dams. Stress-strain, pore-pression deformation, and efective stress path curves are analysed and as a result some typical soil behaviors were identified as a function of the plots. These behaviors are then associated with such factors as type of soil, type of test, confining stress, and sample molding condition. Modified stress envelopes, in terms of effective stress, obtained from UU, CU, CUsat, CD and CDsat tests available are the analysed for each material. Envelope shapes and respective strength parameters are defined, and an analysis of the influencing factors on the determination of these values is then performed.
