An analysis is made of the effect of Acoustic Streaming upon the diffusion of KCl in water in a transient regime. Experimental results show a substantial reduction of the saturation time for diffusion of the salt in water. A theoretical model is suggested for the analysis of streaming adjacent to the water-KCI interface. The equation of the acoustic streaming is solved for the mass transport velocity. This solution gives a convective term to be added to thediffusion equation.
