Revisão taxonômica de Mischonyx Bertkau, 1880 (Opiliones: Laniatores: Gonyleptidae)

A taxonomic review of Mischonyx Bertkau, 1880, distributed in southeastern and southern Brazil, is done. The generic diagnosis is reviewed and a critic review of the diagnostic characters is completed. The status of the eleven nominal species currently included in Mischonyx is evaluated, as well as that of possible closely related genera which could be included in Mischonyx. Material of Gonyleptinae of many institutions has been studied to define the geographic distribution of the species and to identify eventual new species. Results include: ( 1) two undescribed species, herein called Mischonyx sp. nova 1 e Mischonyx sp. nova 2 are characterized. (2) Ilhaia parva Roewer, 1913 is restored from the synonymy of Mischonyx squalidus, Bertkau, 1880 under the new combination Mischonyx parvus. (3) Ilhaia cuspidata Roewer, 1913 (currently Mischonyx cuspidatus) is considered a junior subjective synonym of Mischonyx squalidus, Bertkau, 1880. ( 4) Geraecormobiella convexa Mello-Leitão, 1931 (currently Geraecormobius convexus) e Weyhia bresslaui Roewer, 1927 (currently Geraecormobius bresslaui) are transferred to Mischonyx. (5) Ilhaia sulina Soares & Soares, 1947 (currently Mischonyx sulinus) is considered a junior subjective synonym of Xundarava anomala Mello-Leitão, 1936 (currently Mischanyx anomalus). (6) Ilhaia meridionalis Mello-Leitão, 1927 (currently Mischanyx meridionalis) is transferred to Geraecormobius and considered a junior subjective synonym of Geraecormobius clavifemur Mello-Leitão, 1927. (7) Gonyleptes antiquus Mello-Leitão, 1934 ( currently Mischanyx antiquus) is removed from Mischanyx, and is not assigned to any other genus pending further study. (8) The geographic distribution of the species of Mischonyx is graphically represented on maps, including new records.
