In the first chapter, a review on Saint-Venant' s problem (torsion and flexion of beams) is made and the necessity of the so-called \"Saint-Venant's Hypotesis\" is indicated. The generalizations of the hypotesis made by Boussinesq and Love, as well as Sernberg's and Zanaboni's Theorems, are discussed. In the seoond chapter, Toupin' s Theorem on the weak form of Saint-Venant Principle is presented and some of his results are discusses.
