Uma análise do comportamento das células de carga e dos piezômetros pneumáticos fabricados pela COPPE para utilização no metrô do Rio de Janeiro

This text refers to a part of the research program contracted to COPPE by the Rio de Janeiro Subway Company, for the instrumentation of excavations. ln the text two instruments built by COPPE to be utilized in the field, are examined: Load Cells and Hidraulic Piezometers. The Load Cells were utilized in the strutted diaphragm wall to measure the loads that were carried by the struts, while the Pneumatic Piezometers were utilized measurement of the pore-water pressure behind the walls and at the bottom excavation. This work contains for each one of above instruments, a litterature review of similar equipments, and the description of the COPPE developed instruments, including considerations about the quality of the construction materials, calibration process, final design analysis, conclusions and recomendations about the fitness of the instruments and proposed alterations. The appendix contains topics about construction and calibration of Load Cells and field tests of the Pneumatic Piezometers.
