The soils in this dissertation had optimum water contents (as defined hy the Proctor Compaction Test) essentially egual to their Plastic Limits. These, compacted at different water contents with the same compacting energy (Proctor Test), when air-dried establish relationships between the parameter (e√S) and water content. That depend upon the initial compacted condition. The laboratory test results allows us to forecast the order of magnitude of the influence of a previous drying up to the undrained shear strength.
