Estudo da resistência ao cisalhamento e densidade relativa das areias e correlações com o SPT
Abstract
dc:description.abstractAnalysis of the laboratory tests developed to choose the procedure for the determination of ''maximum" and "minimum" density of sand and finishes, adopting "dynamic compactation'' and the Kolbuszewski 's Method'' to obtain the maximum and minimum density respectively. The second part, the characterization and "direct shear'' tests performed on nine different kinds of sand are analysed. The resultant datas enables us to verify the influence of some ''granulometric characteristics" of sand on "shear resistance'' and "dilatance''. It is also presented a procedure which permits to obtain the correlation "friction angle" X "relative density", performing an unique serie of shear test at constant density. Finally, in the third part, some existing propositions are analysed to evaluate the relative density and friction angle of sand, starting from the datas obtained from Standard Penetration Test. It was shown that ''Bazaraa Position''(1967), to evaluate the relative density, was the only one that got more close to the field datas. It is evident, therefore, that it can be correlated "friction angle", "SPT" and ''Depness'', although, it seems not to exist only one function for different kinds of sand.
