Aplicação do método dos elementos finitos a problemas planos da mecânica de fratura
Abstract
dc:description.abstractIn this work the problem of brittle fracture is discussed, attempting to obtain the stress intensity factors. In doing so a hybrid displacement finite element model is used. The fundamental concepts and theories of Fracture Mechanics are presented, firstly. Then, a hybrid functional, in which the displacements in the interior and on the boundary of the elements are assumed independently, is studied. Two different elements - a regular and a singular one - that can be used to the discretization of plain domains containing rectilinear cracks, are developed. Finally, the matrices employed in the assembling of the linear system of equations, obtained from the stationary value of the hybrid functional are explicitly derived.
