Special emphasis is given to the dynamic behavior of cantilever bridges. The structure is discretized in finite elements and the analysis is conducted by means of the modal superposition method. The element which is used takes into account the effects of rotary inertia and shear deformation. A FORTRAN program for the Burroughs B6700 computer is developed. Some example of existing highway and railway bridges are studied.
