Estudo e aplicação do método dos elementos finitos a barragens de terra

Static, two-dimensional analysis of earth dams is conducted by the Finite Element Method, using isoparametric elements. A study of the method and element used is made and a computer program is developed. Comments on linear and non linear simulations of an earth dam construction are made; some examples are shown. The effect of reservoir filling on a model is simulated with the computer program. A study of the influence of the elastic parameter's is made. Sugestions about the application of the method to earth dams and special tests to be made in laboratory are also made.
