Systematische Spielbeobachtung im internationalen Leistungsfußball
Abstract
dc:description.abstractThere are three phases in the development of football game analysis. (a)“traditional descriptive method”,(b) “Analytical method” and (c)”Simulative method.” I have published three articles on the afore-described topic of “sport game research”. By means of the mathematical descriptive method, the mathematical simulative method and the empirical analytical method, a complex game of football was analyzed for two matches: the European Champions league final 2011 and the Algarve Cup Final 2012. With the article "Applying the Markov Chain Theory to Analyze the Attacking actions between FC Barcelona and Manchester United in the European Champions League final", the mathematical simulative approach was introduced to perform a performance diagnosis of the football match. This research determined which player combinations played an important role in the creation of scoring chances. Under the title “Applying Data Mining to Analyze the Different Styles of Offense between Manchester United and FC Barcelona in the European Champions League Final", I have applied the new data mining method to analyze the football match. Using an Apriori algorithm, indirect connections between players were identified. The results described the “ball running” tendency whereby the ball was passed from player A to player B in a stepwise manner. In the article "Systematic match analysis in women's football - the final of the Algarve Cup 2012 Germany - Japan", the final of the Algarve Cup 2012 was analyzed in parallel with the "traditional descriptive method”, the “simulative method" and the "analytical method". All these three methods are complementary to each other and therefore prove to be a good method to analyze a football game.
