It is assumed that knowledge enters the country through firms that export to other countries. A separate network is constructed for each model and a firm&apos;s position in the network is considered an input into the firm&apos;s production function. With the exception of China, exporting directly is relatively more important than being close to exporting firms. However, this relative amount depends on the export destination.
