This thesis analyzes the new historic narrative of Nicaraguan author Sergio Ramírez (1942), a narrative that we consider to be one of the three fundamental tendencies of Latin American contemporary literature along with women's writings and neo-detective narrative. Our analysis, eclectic in nature, leaning towards an ideological neo-historic critique proposed by Fernando Aínsa, Seymour Menton, and María Cristina Pons, and taking into consideration the concept of the other proposed by Renato Martínez Torres, includes a close reading of three recent novels of Ramírez: Margarita, está Linda la mar (1998), Sombras nada más (2002), and Mil y una muertes (2004). We propose that these narrative texts defy the absolutist discourses of official history replacing them with the voices of the other who appears as a central figure of these stories. We conclude that the novels considered in this thesis are an attempt at rewriting history and texts that express ideological differences between the neglected discourses of the other and the totalizing discourses of those in power positions.","abstract_html":"En la presente tesis se analiza la narrativa nueva-histórica del autor nicaragüense Sergio Ramírez (1942), la cual consideramos como una de las tres tendencias fundamentales de la literatura latinoamericana contemporánea junto con la literatura de mujeres y la narrativa detectivesca.
