Marionettes for orchestra.

Marionettes is a four-movement orchestral composition exploring processes of transformation and contrast. The work progresses from an initial awakening through distortion and playful exploration and eventually building up into an intensified finale. Each movement presents a distinct musical character while contributing to a continuous expressive trajectory across the work. This paper outlines the compositional framework of the work by focusing on compositional technique and motivic development. The discussion focuses how musical materials evolve across movements to support the overall structure. All figures and musical examples presented in this paper are excerpted from the author’s original score and annotated by the author.
