Isabel Allende is undoubtedly the most prominent contemporary woman writer of Latin America. This study will take into account the ideological implications of the treatment of human rights from a feminist point of view, and how these ideas tie in to a cultural view of human rights. From this dual critical basis, I will analyze a set of short stories, published as part of her collection. Stories of Eva Luna, which have not received the same amount of attention as have her novels.
