The rhetoric of Patrick Pearse characterized the revolutionary fanaticism of the leaders of the Rising and provides an excellent example for the study of mythic rhetoric. This study analyzes several of Pearse's speeches and additional texts in order to reveal a pragmatic means of studying metaphor and myth in the rhetorical context.
