The classification falls into three main groups: conditional sentences introduced by "if" and the substitute conjunctions for "if", adverbial clauses, and relative clauses. The study also includes the future subjunctive as the substitute tense for the present tenses of the indicative and subjunctive moods. To complete the study a comparison is made of the future subjunctive tense in Spanish and Portuguese. Examples of this tense in Portuguese are taken from three grammars and three representative novels of Brazilian Literature.","abstract_html":"A Comparative Study of the Future Subjunctive Tense in Spanish and Portuguese includes the classification of 634 examples of the future subjunctive taken from Cervantes' El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha.
