It aims to discover the opportunity that a woman entering journalism in this state in a professional capacity has, and the phase of work she is best fitted for in the competitive newspaper world, as well as to place her in the field, city, or country, where she may best perform her task. The secondary purpose of this thesis is to endeavor to discover in behalf of the teaching staff of the journalism department at Baylor University, the relative importance of a college education to the profession of journalism. It is the belief of the faculty in the department that practical courses such as are essential to the success of the journalist, should be included in the curriculum. Such information gained from editors over the state will determine the type of training which shall be emphasized for the woman specializing in journalism.","abstract_html":"The primary purpose in writing this thesis is to gather and evaluate information regarding women in journalism in Texas.
