More recently, the formation of the Institute of Museum and Library Services further solidified this relationship. The repeated associations between these two types of institutions suggest that their respective training programs also may possess similarities that would lend themselves to collaborations. This study provides a compilation of information related to current graduate-level museum studies and library science programs and assesses the benefits of such collaborations. This information demonstrates challenges that currently exist in both fields of study.
