The proposed framework will provide for the examination of individual households to produce a body of historic data. An evaluation will be included of the usefulness of this model for collecting information. Also included is a methodology for the utilization of the collected body of data as a means of illuminating local trends, groups, or an entire community as compared to individual families. This thesis will evaluate the usefulness of this methodology in obtaining these goals. The insights provided by this examination allow museum-based historians to develop detailed regional information for specific locales. This information provides greater understanding of a particular region than a broader regional history, and can demonstrate inter-regional differences. Therefore, this thesis will evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed model for using probate records to provide museums with relevant information to improve historical interpretation.","abstract_html":"This thesis provides a framework for conducting probate research for interpretive purposes.
